DAY 2, and I was still in Hanoi..

I hope I don't really bore you with these touristy pics. Being in the foreign land I guess it's a MUST to visit all the famous touristy places like the museum wtf, the park and all.. And moreover these 2 lost souls were wandering around without a proper map.

So off we went to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on the 2nd day!

Ho Chi Minh City has the name, but Hanoi has the man himself. No photos are permitted inside the building itself. No short pants , no hats and no other signs of disrespect are allowed while viewing. It's a permanent memorial for the respected Uncle Ho (and oh well, if you don't know who, you better google for it now -_-)

And I read from a website that every year the embalmed corpse returns to Russia for maintenance, so the complex will be closed for a few months.

Cool.

Vietnam has a lot of nice hats, really. This one cost like USD3, I think.

Not-very-nice-ice-cream.

Basically a few main attractions of Hanoi are situated at the same area, like the HCM Museum, HCM residence, One Pillar Pagoda, etc.. So the lost souls were wandering around again and we ended up in HCM Museum next!

It was very windy that day = my shawl to prove! Many locals were staring when this shot was taken -_-"

And oh!! Look! I have a new bag! :D Screw that robber who made me bag-less and ended up with toileterries bag the whole morning :( But I damn love my new bag. Love the suede material and that bunch of lovely flower petals! And it's BIG and SPACEYYYYYY!

I'm a happy girl once more!

Hello Uncle Ho!

The museum displays personal items and photos from HCM's life..

.. but I'm more attracted to this.

One Pillar Pagoda.

I forgot the story behind, but it has something to do with Goddess of Mercy and this pagoda resembles a lotus. Go google for yourself if you wanna know more. My knowledge in history isn't very good ;(

I tell you Vietnamese are damn romantic. Everywhere I go, I see couples sitting in the park and they can really sit for hours! Luckily the weather was cold.. -_-"

Random vintage bicycle with no historical value. Enough said.

Cawhored with the only policemen that looked friendly to us. The rest looked like they gonna shoot us anytime. But oh! Are they policemen? Or just security guards?? I don't know..

Back to Old Quarter during lunch time and check out the lady at the left hand side. It's quite a common sight in Vietnam people being seated by the roadside having their hair 'cleaned'.

When I passed by them I kept wondering if those fleas will fly to me T___T EwwWW!!

I had over dosage of caffeine everyday in Vietnam, like 3-4 cups daily. And I think because of this, I have constipation till today T______T

Communication breakdown and we have no idea what to order from those roadside stalls that seemed to have a lot of locals patronizing. If the locals like it, it must be good.. but too bad.

We ended up in this cafe full of gweilos.. and they have menu in English! :D

Bun bo nam bo
- a popular dish from the south of Vietnam. Stir fried beef, bean sprouts and fresh rice noodles, served with sweet sauce and peanuts.

Damn good I tell you.

Bun cha
- a traditional Hanoi dish. Marinated pork, rice noodles, fresh herbs and a light dipping sauce.

Also damn heavenly.

A lot of street vendors selling roses. It's a lovely sight. ;)

See! Another hat! Damn regret not getting it as it cost only USD3!!

In the evening, we went to the cafe overlooking Hoan Keim lake, just to be romantic-lah! LOL

The end of second day. Fullstop.

Because the same night itself, we took overnight train to Sapa where the real adventure to Vietnam just begun. I can't wait to blog about it already!!!!!

;) ;) ;) ;)

Lastly, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday all!!!!!!
Christmas presents most welcomed!!
